No, each user account is linked to a single profile type, either a Writer or an Employer. This is to ensure clarity and security on the platform. If you wish to operate as both a writer and an employer, you will need to register two separate accounts using two different email addresses.
Our platform uses a two-way rating system to build trust. After a job is completed and payment is released, both the employer and the writer are prompted to leave a rating and a brief review for each other.
Writers are rated on quality, communication, and timeliness.
Employers are rated on clarity of instructions, communication, and fairness. These ratings are publicly visible on profiles and are crucial for building your reputation within the Safe Writer community.
For Writers
To stand out to employers, we recommend the following:
Complete Your Profile: A 100% complete profile with a clear bio, profile picture, and subject specializations appears more professional.
Write a Custom Bid: Avoid generic bids. Read the job description carefully and write a proposal that directly addresses the employer's needs.
Maintain a High Rating: Consistently delivering high-quality work on time will earn you positive reviews, making you more attractive to new employers.
Communicate Professionally: Be clear, polite, and responsive in all your communications.
A "Private Writer" is someone who has been handpicked by an employer to be part of their personal team. When an employer posts a private job, only writers on their team can see and accept it, giving you exclusive access to work without the need to bid against others.
The best way to become a private writer is to consistently deliver exceptional work and build a strong professional relationship with an employer. If they are impressed with your reliability and quality, they can invite you to their private team directly from their dashboard.
Once your earnings are in your Safe Writer account, you can withdraw them at any time. Simply navigate to your "Wallet" or "Earnings" page, enter the amount you wish to withdraw, and confirm your M-Pesa number. Withdrawals are processed very quickly, typically arriving in your M-Pesa account within a few minutes.
For Employers
The more detail you provide, the better the bids you will receive. We recommend including:
A clear and descriptive title.
Detailed, step-by-step instructions for the task.
The required number of pages or words.
The academic level and formatting style (e.g., APA, MLA).
A firm deadline.
Any necessary attachments.
Your budget or cost-per-page. A well-detailed job post attracts serious, professional writers.
Yes. When you post a public job, writers will place bids. You can review each bidder's profile and initiate a chat with them directly from the bid section. This allows you to ask questions, clarify details about their experience, and gauge their understanding of your project before you award the job and fund the escrow.
"Trusted Employer" is a special status awarded to employers who have a long and positive history on the Safe Writer platform. This status signals to top writers that you are reliable and professional. A key benefit is that you may not be required to fund the escrow for every single job, which can streamline your workflow. To become a Trusted Employer, you need to consistently post jobs, release payments promptly upon satisfaction, and maintain a high rating from the writers you work with.
